Mit einer Thrash-Granate größten Kalibers meldet sich eine Bay Area Legende zurück. Schon die Tour-EP "War Is My Sheppard" hatte mich umgehauen und machte Lust auf mehr. Bis auf das AC/DC Cover "Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap" sind alle Songs der EP auf dem Album vertreten. Die fette Produktion von Meister Andy Sneap ist das Sahnehäubchen auf dieser Hammer-Scheibe. Dieser Gitarrensound mäht einfach alles nieder, was nicht bis drei auf den Bäumen ist und auch Sänger Steve Souza hat die Aggressivität aus der "Pleasures Of The Flesh" Zeit wieder entdeckt. Songs wie "Blacklist" oder "Forward March" tun mir sooooo gut nach der Schmach mit der letzten METALLICA (Pfui ! Deibel !). EXODUS beweisen, dass die Thrash-Riege der 80er Jahre noch lange nicht zum alten Eisen gehören muss. Wenn das Album am 2. Februar (Paul Baloffs 2. Todestag) veröffentlicht wird, hat man ein ihm gebührendes Vermächtnis hinterlegt. Dieses Album kann eigentlich nur noch von der neuen DEATH ANGEL getoppt werden. Die Jagdsaison ist hiermit eröffnet !

Nachtrag 13.02.2004: Auf dem limitierten Digi-Pack ist der AC/DC Song als Bonus mit drauf ! Dagegen findet man auf der Japan-Version des neuen Albums zwei zusätzliche Tracks (Demo-Versionen), während besagter AC/DC Song fehlt.

A Bay Area legend returns with a Thrash grenade of the biggest calibre.The Tour-EP „War Is My Sheppard“ already blew me away and left me yearning for more. Except for the AC/DC-cover version „Dirty Deeds“ all EP songs are included here.The great production of knob-wizard Andy Sneap is the cream cap on the cake, so to speak. This guitar sound slaughters everything and everyone not able to escape on time.Vocalist Steve Souza also has found again is aggressiveness that was a feature of „Pleasures Of The Flesh“ times. Songs like „Blacklist“ or „Forward March“ turn out to be a true delight for my soul after this shameful new METALLICA output (FUCK YOU!!). EXODUS offer evidence that the 80ies Thrash squad is not dead yet ! Releasing this album on February 2nd (Paul Baloff’s second day of death) is a proper legacy for this great fronter. This album could only be topped by the new DEATH ANGEL album I guess. The hunting season is open !!

P.S. February 13th 2004 : The AC/DC cover version is included on the limited Digi-Pack edition.The Japanese edition features two bonus tracks (demo recordings) but the AC/DC song is missing.
