Mit Bands aus Irland wird man als Rocker ja nicht gerade überschüttet, aber einige Bands wie THIN LIZZY oder GARY MOORE sind ja aus eben jenem Land und zu unsterblichen Legenden geworden. CELTIC LEGACY veröffentlichten bereits 1998 ein Album, damals aber noch mit anderem Sänger. Und damit sind wir auch schon beim Thema. Der neue Sänger hat eine phantastische Stimme welche perfekt zu den Songs passt. Er erinnert stellenweise an Steve Bettney von den genialen SARACEN. Musikalisch gibt es hier ein Gitarrenfeuerwerk von IRON MAIDEN ähnlichen Duellen bis hin zu den typisch irischen Melodien, welche sicherlich jeder schon von THIN LIZZY her kennt. Absolutes Highlight ist für mich der Titelsong "Resurrection" mit über zehn Minuten Spielzeit. In diesem Song hat die Band ihre ganzen Stärken gebündelt und ein wahres Meisterwerk abgeliefert. Trotz der angeführten Ähnlichkeiten mit den genannten Bands sind CELTIC LEGACY eigenständig und haben keinen Exotenbonus nötig. DIESE BAND IST EINFACH KLASSE. Interessierte Käufer sollten sich beeilen die Erstauflage als Doppel CD zu erstehen. Die zweite CD ist randvoll mit Demoaufnahmen in besserer Qualität als so mancher offizielle Release anderer Bands. Die Debüt CD (die letzten Restexemplare, es sind weniger als 100) zum Preis von EUR 15 und die "Resurrection" als SPECIAL EDITION Doppel-CD zum Preis von EUR 20 (zuzügl. Fans of Rockmusic are definitely not showered with bands hailing from Ireland but nevertheless some of them such as THIN LIZZY or GARY MOORE have managed to become immortal legends. CELTIC LEGACY already released an album in 1998 but with another vocalist. And that's the main point. The new vocalist has a fantastic voice fitting the songs perfectly. Here and there he reminds me of Steve Bettney, vocalist of the brilliant SARACEN. Musically the listener's offered IRON MAIDEN-like guitar work and typical Irish melodies just like THIN LIZZY used in their songs. To me the title track "Resurrection" is the outstanding highlight of this CD with more than 10 min. playing time. This song contains the band's whole range of ability and skill and turns out to be a masterpiece. Despite the influences of the bands mentioned above CELTIC LEGACY show a lot of originality. THIS BAND IS SIMPLY GREAT ! Interested buyers should hurry up to get the limited first issue. It is a double CD with loads of demo recordings in great sound quality.
