Die CD ist eindeutig dem Power-Metal zuzuordnen, so wie wir ihn alle lieben. Die Songs sind recht abwechslungreich eingespielt und variieren zwischen einfachen Bangern bis zu leicht komplexen Songsstrukturen mit einem leicht progressiven Touch, ohne frickelig zu werden. Von den 16 Titeln sind allerdings nur 10 Stücke tatsächlich zu bewerten. Die Band hat die Gesamtzahl etwas mit Intro, 4 Zwischenspielen und dem Outro gestreckt. Diese kurzen Teile fügen sich aber nahtlos ein und stören auch den Gesamteindruck nicht weiter. Sänger Martin O’ Brian setzt dem Ganzen mit seiner ausgeprägten Stimme das I-Tüpfelchen auf. Für Fans alter Savatage ist die Scheibe empfehlenswert.

Power Metal as we like it ! The songs change between simple bangers and slightly complex structures with a progressive touch without getting too weird. But only 10 out of 16 tracks are to judge here because the rest consists of Intro, Outro and four Interludes. But these short parts fit in the whole context perfectly smooth. Vocalist Martin O’Brian marks the highlight with his expressive voice. Recommended for fans of old SAVATAGE.

Nachschlag in Sachen BEYOND REALITY gibt es mit “Sacred Ground”. Hier hat man allen zusätzlichen Ballast über Bord geworfen und sich nunmehr dem reinen US Power-Metal gewidmet. Bedauerlich ist leider nur die recht kurze Spielzeit. Und wenn man von den 8 Titeln Intro und Outro abzieht, bleiben halt nur 6 Perlen übrig. Diese lohnen die Anschaffung der CD aber auf alle Fälle. Danach kam von der Band leider nichts mehr. Als Info: Es gibt von der Band noch 2 Demos. Diese wurden auch in einer geringen Auflage als CD veröffentlicht. Musikalisch kommt das Material aber nicht an die beiden Veröffentlichungen heran. Sänger Martin O’ Brian hat im Jahr 2001 bei der Band WEAPON X den Sangesposten übernommen.

Some more BEYOND REALITY-stuff. The band has discharged ballast and fully concentrates on pure US Power Metal now. Only the short playing time is regrettable here and omitting Intro and Outro you just have six little gems left. But these six songs are worth purchasing this CD. After the release of „Sacred Ground“ nothing more was heard of BEYOND REALITY. But there are two demos circulating which were even released on CD in a very small quantity. But musically this demo stuff cannot keep up with the later releases. In 2001 vocalist Martin O‘ Brian has left the band and is now into WEAPON X.
