Die im Dezember 2000 gegründet EXCALION aus Finnland wirbelten im Power Metal Underground mit ihrem Debüt "Primal Exhale" gut fünf Jahre später gehörig Staub auf. So das es nur eine Frage der Zeit war, bis irgendein Label auf die Jungs aufmerksam wird.
Den Zuschlag für das neue Album "Waterlines" erhielt dann LMP und das EXCALION damit genau an der richtigen Stelle gelandet sind, beweist der Backkatalog von Limb Music Products. "Waterlines" ist zum Debüt, eine immense Steigerung in allen belangen! Geboten wird melodischer Power Metal mit ordentlich Druck und einer super geilen und glasklaren Stimme von Jarmo Pääkkönen. Aber nicht nur die Vocals oder die Musik überzeugen, sondern auch das völlig genial umgesetzte Fantasy-Coverartwork von Jason Juta. Ganz zu schweigen vom oberamtlichen Sound der von Arttu Sarvanne im Watercastle-Studio veredelt wurde.
Wer Bands wie SONATA ARCTICA, STRATOVARIUS oder die Label Kollegen von PAGANS MIND zu seinen Favoriten zählt, kommt an dem rundum gelungen Album "Waterlines" von EXCALION absolut nicht vorbei.

Thus it was only a matter of time to attract some label's attention. Finally, LMP made it and have now released the new effort "Waterlines". And the label's back catalogue clearly shows that EXCALION have made the right choice. In comparison to its predecessor "Waterlines" is an enormous improvement in every respect ! Driving Melodic Power Metal with brilliant and crystal clear vocals performed by Jarmo Pääkkönen. But besides the totally convincing vocals and music the album impresses with an excellently transposed fantasy cover artwork by Jason Juta. Not to mention the great sound refined by Arttu Sarvanne in the Watercastle studios.
If you're into bands like SONATA ARCTICA, STRATOVARIUS or labelmates PAGAN'S MIND there is no other way than to get this well-done album to add it to your collection.
