Eine der außergewöhnlichsten Scheiben des Jahres liefern die Polen ESQARIAL mit "Klassika" ab. Schon seit einigen Jahren zählen sie für mich zum besten was der progressive Death Metal zu bieten hat, aber so etwas habe selbst ich ihnen nicht zugetraut. Auf dem Album gibt es keine Death Growls sondern die Heavy/Power Stimme von Gastsänger Grzegorza Kupczyka (TURBO, CETI) veredelt diese Scheibe. Die starken Klassik Einflüsse auf Alben wie "Discoveries" (1991) kommen auf dem neuen Album noch besser zur Geltung. Wer einfach nur Bock auf eine geile Heavy Scheibe mit starkem Klassik Einfluss hat, sollte die neue ESQARIAL mal antesten. Wem' s gefällt der kann sich ja auch mal an ihre "normalen" Death Metal Alben ranwagen. Lohnt sich !

"Klassika" of the Polish band ESQARIAL is one of the most outstanding releases of this year. To my mind they are one of the best Progressive Death Metal bands ever but even I wouldn't have expected such a great album. There are no Death growls at all but the heavy/power voice of guest vocalist Grzegorza Kupczyka (TURBO,CETI) ennobles this record. The strong classical influences you already could hear on albums like "Discoveries" (1991) carry even more weight on the new release. Just check it out if you are in the right mood to listen to a brilliant Heavy Metal album with strong classical influences. If you should like it you should check out their "normal" Death Metal albums as well. It is worth it !
