Als ich das Cover sah, musste ich sofort an das Buch „Der kleine Hobbit“ denken. Bilbo Beutlin mit den Zwergen im dunklen Nachtwald auf dem Weg zum einsamen Berg um den Drachen Smaug zu töten. Mit diesen Gedanken im Kopf wurde dem
kleinen Silberteller auch die darauf enthaltene stählerne Konserve entlockt. Und ich muss sagen, die Amis CRESENT haben mich in meiner Erwartungshaltung nicht enttäuscht. Truemetal!! Nach dem ersten Durchlauf musste ich allerdings vorsichtshalber die CD kontrollieren. Habe ich schon wieder alles durcheinander gebracht und die falsche Scheibe eingelegt. Klingt ja wie ICED EARTH. Nee, war doch die Richtige. Damit dürfte wohl alles klar sein. Musikalisch kann die Band voll mit ihren Vorbildern mithalten. Einzig bei der Produktin muss man leider bei den 6 Songs noch Abstriche machen. Jedenfalls war ich schon überrascht, dass die Band dieses Teil als Demo (ist eine industriell hergestellte Silber-CD) verkauft. Wer also ICED EARTH der Barlow-Ära zu seinen Faves zählt, sollte sich CRESENT in die Sammlung stellen. Alle US-Metal Fanatiker werden es sicherlich sowieso tun. Ich würde mich jedenfalls freuen, wenn mich die Band in nächster Zeit mit einem weiteren Album überrascht. Also Jungs, ich warte ... !!!     www.cresent-band.com    www.myspace.com/cresentband

Looking at the cover artwork I had to think of the book "The Little Hobbit". Bilbo Beutlin accompanied by the dwarves on his way to the solemn mountain to kill the dragon Smaug. Having these thoughts inside my head I didn't get disappointed for these US boys play True Metal !! After the first listening session I actually had to check the CD but in fact I didn't interchange it. This really sounds like Iced Earth. Thus everything's clear to me.Musically they can keep up with their idols, only the production of the six songs is a minor point here. Anyway I was surprised that the band sells this industrially manufatured silver CD as a demo.If you're into Iced Earth (Barlow-era) you should add this one to your collection. So will every US Metal fanatic. I myself would be glad to be surprised by a further release of this band in the near future. Hey dudes, I am waiting...!!
