Vor nicht allzu langer Zeit habe ich euch die MCD der Band empfohlen. Zu meinem Erstaunen fand ich jetzt in meiner Metal-CD-Auffangstation (Briefkasten klingt ja bescheuert) innerhalb kürzester Zeit wieder Post von der Insel. In der Wiege des Heavy Metal rührt sich endlich wieder was. Und so haben Conquest of Steel unsere Patronengurte wieder mit 10 Geschossen aufgefüllt, so dass mir vor lauter Freude die Nackenwirbel knistern.
Ja was soll man dazu noch sagen. Endlich mal eine Band, die nicht vor jedem beschissenen Trend resigniert und im Glauben an die Truemetalbibel ihre dritte Veröffentlichung serviert.
Und so kann man sich dem Slogan im beigelegten Schreiben bedenkenlos anschließen: „The True Wave of British Heavy Metal has arrived. Pure Metal! Head banging anthems!! Blood, Sweat and Heavy Metal!!!” In diesem Sinne werden uns 9 neue Songs und der bereits von der MCD bekannte Song „May your blade never dull“ in die Gehörgänge geschraubt. Hier gibt es kein Entkommen. Die Band gehört einfach zum Pflichtprogramm aller Fans echten britischen Stahls. Und so sollten die Veranstalter der allseits bekannten Kultfestivals mal bei den Jungs anklopfen. Sie haben es verdient.

Not so long ago I recommended the band's MCD to you. To my great astonishment I found a new package from the UK shortly afterwards inside my Metal CD collecting station (mail-box really sounds stupid, doesn't it??). The cradle of Heavy Metal Music is still swinging. And thus Conquest Of Steel have reammunitioned our ammunition belts with ten projectiles making my neck snap with delight.
Nothing more to say. This bands doesn't yield to any fucking trendy shit and releases their third album in deep belief in the True Metal bible.
And thus I do agree unscrupulously to the letter sent with the CD: "The True Wave Of British Heavy Metal has arrived. Pure Metal ! Headbanging anthems !! Blood, Sweat and Heavy Metal !!!" This is what this 10 tracker is all about. Nine new songs and "May Your Blade Never Dull" already known from the MCD are drilled into your ears. There's no escape. A Must Have for every British Steel maniac. Thus the promoters of our beloved cult Metal festivals should give these guys a chance. They truly deserve it.

Wer hätte gedacht, dass nach der Veröffentlichung der CD im Jahre 2004 noch weitere Aktivitäten der Band zu erwarten waren. Ist doch Großbritannien momentan nicht unbedingt die Hochburg des Heavy Metal, insbesondere des Truemetal. Um so mehr war ich erfreut diesen neuen Silberling der Band in den Händen zu halten. Zwar handelt es sich nur um eine Mini-CD mit 5 Songs, die haben es aber in sich. Diese Veröffentlichung zeigt Vergangenheit, Gegenwart und Zukunft der Band. Mit dem Titelsong „May your blade never dull“ gibt es dann als erstes einen exklusiven Mix vom künftigen neuen Album zu hören, dass hoffentlich in nicht allzu langer Zeit erscheint. Die weiteren Titel haben schon alleine beim Lesen Kultstatus (Priest of metal, Righteous victory (of war), Halfway to hell und Steel ist the law) und sind die absolute Offenbarung des Old School Metals. Ihrem Stil der ersten Veröffentlichung sind die Metalkrieger jedenfalls treu geblieben und präsentieren mit ihrer Mucke die glorreichen Metaltage des Königreiches. Wer schon immer Britischen Stahl aus der Mitte der 80-er Jahre zu seinen Faves zählte bzw. auch auf Bands wie z.B. MARSHALL LAW abfährt, sollte hier unbedingt zuschlagen. Außerdem gibt es auf der Homepage noch absolut kultige T-Shirts, die jeden Truemetaller zusagen dürften. Honestly, I didn't expect any further activities of this band after their 2004 CD release for Great Britain currently isn't known for high-quality Heavy Metal, especially concerning True Metal. Thus it was a nice surprise to receive this new CD. Unfortunately only a 5 Track-Mini-CD but every single song is a killer. This release features the past, present and future of the band. The title track "May Your Blade Never Dull" is an exclusive Mix of their coming album that will hopefully be released soon. The other tracks already reach cult status by simply reading their titles (Priest Of Metal, Righteous Victory (Of War), Halfway To Hell and Steel Is The Law) and are an absolute revelation as far as Old School Metal is concerned. The guys consequently kept their musical direction and thus are representatives of the glorious Metal Days of the United Kingdom. If you're into British Steel of the 80ies or bands like Marshall Law respectively, this one's definitely for you. Moreover there are real cult T-Shirts for sale via the band's homepage that should be every True Metaller's flavour. Wunder geschehen immer wieder. Und so auch das Unglaubliche, eine Metalband (abgesehen von den Dinos) aus Großbritannien. Ich dachte eigentlich, dass diese Art des Musizierens in diesen Gefilden ausgestorben ist. Doch nun zu besagter CD. Schon das kultige Frontcover sowie die an alte Zeiten erinnernden Songtitel lassen mich in Ehrfurcht dieses Kleinod in den Rachen meines Players werfen. Die Sekunden bis zum Anfang des ersten Tracks sind unendlich lang und dann kommt endlich die Erlösung und der damit verbundene Aufschrei der Erleichterung. Was ich nur zu hoffen wagte, trifft ein. Eine Powermetal CD, die meine Erwartungen erfüllt. Ein absolutes Old School Teil haben die Jungs da eingezimmert. Im ersten Moment erinnert mich die Mucke an eine Mischung der alten britische Bands XEMTRIX, TALIÖN und TORANAGA, was sicherlich am rauen Gesangsstil von Dan Durrant liegt. Passt wie die Faust aufs Auge. Um dem ganzen noch die Krone aufzusetzen baut die Truppe noch MAIDEN und und MANOWAR Einflüsse ein. Die Axtmänner setzten Melodie und Power gekonnt um. Absolut kultverdächtig. Schade, dass solche Bands dem großen Publikum verborgen bleiben. Da kann man nur hoffen, dass sich auch ein Vertrieb in Deutschland findet. Surprise, surprise. I cannot believe it a METAL band from Great Britain. Already thought that this kind of music had been extincted there (with the exception of some “dinosaurs”). But now to the CD mentioned above. The culty cover artwork and the song titles reminding me of the good old days make me put this gem into my CD player in awe. The seconds until the beginning of the opening track seem to be endless but then a loud cry of relief. What I didn’t dare to hope has come true: An Old School Power Metal CD fulfilling my needstotally. At first it reminded me of the British veterans Xentrix, Taliön and Toranaga partly caused by Dan Durrant’s rough voice. Fits perfectly. To complete their work these guys mix it all with several Maiden and Manowar influences. The axemen deliver great melodic and powerful guitar work. Total cult. What a pity that bands of this kind will stay unknown to the masses. Hope they will find a distributor in Germany as well. Until then you’ll have to visit the band’s homepage or take a look at our fansites. Highly recommended to every True Metal maniac.
