Vor einiger Zeit habe ich die CD von DESELECTRA hier vorgestellt (siehe CD-Archiv). Nun ist Gitarist Brandon Noyes mit einer neuen Band am Start. Also lassen wir uns überraschen. Das Coverartwork sowie der Bandname sind ja nicht unbedingt der Hammer und somit wenig verkaufsfördernd. Da kann man schon mal schnell darüber hinwegschauen. Aber egal, der Inhalt zählt. Und da kann ich mich schon mal beruhigend zurücklehnen. Caje ist vom Stil her nicht weit von DESELECTRA entfernt. Die Songs sind nicht mehr ganz so aggressiv und man hat einen Gang zurückgeschaltet. Dafür ist die Produktion besser, was dem Album zugute kommt. Die 12 Tracks bewegen sich grundsätzlich im Midtempobereich, sind aber um einiges variabler. Da gibt es Ausflüge in speedige bzw. thrashige Regionen und man scheut sich auch nicht wie z.B. im 8 Minuten Song „I see you“ das Intro doomig zu gestalten.

Some time ago I presented the CD of DESELECTRA on this site (see CD archive). Now guitarist Brandon Noyes has founded a new band. So let’s see what he has in store for us. Well, honestly, Cover artwork and band name are not really exciting and won’t increase sales I guess. But that’s not the most important thing, it is the contents what really matters. And to my relief CAJE are stilistically rather similar to Deselectra. The songs aren’t that aggressive any more but on the other hand the CD is better produced. The 12 tracks are basically mid tempo but much more varied. There are trips into speedy and thrashy regions as well as a doomy Intro in the 8 minute song „I See You“.
