Ja, da ist nun das erste Album der Band. Einen Vorgeschmack gab es ja bereits mit der 4-Song Mini-CD aus dem Jahr 2003, die hier bereits vorgestellt wurde. Und nun kommt die Stunde der Wahrheit. Hat die Band den Stil der ersten Veröffentlichung beibehalten oder biedert man sich den momentanen Trends an? Der erste Titel bzw. das etwas längere Intro beruhigt sofort meine angespannten Nerven und dann folgt mit „Lost in the shadows“ (Iced Earth lassen grüßen) eine sehr gelungene Power-Hymne, die mir ein befriedigendes Grinsen ins Gesicht zaubert. Jedoch fällt mir beim dritten Song „Concrete lucifer“ dafür fast die Kauleiste aus dem Gesicht. Eine recht sperrige Melodieführung und dann kommt es ... verzerrter Gesang (Joe warum tust du uns das an??!!). Glücklicherweise ist dies der einzige Ausrutscher und die Band besinnt sich auf den folgenden 7 Tracks wieder voll und ganz auf ihre Tugenden und ballert ein Geschoss nach dem anderen aus den Boxen. Man hat also doch die eingeschlagene Stilrichtung der Mini-CD beibehalten (siehe Review im Archiv). Immer wieder werden melodische Solis eingebaut, was den einzelnen Songs sehr zugute kommt. Das Gitarrenduett Jasuilewicz / Johnson hat sich im Vergleich zum Debut noch gesteigert. Und der kraftvoll aggressive Gesang passt genau zu den Kompositionen (geht doch Joe!!!). Insgesamt ein gutes Album, den einen Querschläger kann man verschmerzen. Aber hört selbst und gebt der Band eine Chance. Sie hat es verdient! www.beyondfallen.com

Finally, the first full-length album of this band following the foretaste 4 track Mini-CD released in 2003 that had been featured here as well. Now the moment of truth has come. Have they kept the musical direction of the predecessor or have they succombed to the current trends? My strained nerves get soothed by the first track or the rather long intro respectively followed by "Lost In The Shadows", a well-done power hymn (greetings from ICED EARTH) conjuring up a satisfied grin on my face. On the other hand I almost lost my lower jaw listening to the third track "Concrete Lucifer" dominated by a rather bulky melody line and the worst...distorted vocals (Joe, why do you torture us this way ??!!). Fortunately this one is the only cheesy track and the band returns to their roots on the following seven tracks firing one killer song after the other off the speakers. Thank goodness they all in all stick to the Mini-CD's musical direction (for the review see CD archive). Many melodic solos are filled in and serve the songs. The guitar duet Jasuilewicz / Johnson has even improved their skills compared to the debut. And the powerful and aggressive vocals fit the songs perfectly (hey Joe, you really know it !!!). All in all a good album with one odd track that you can get over quickly. But cjheck it out for yourself and give them a chance. They really deserve it. www.beyondfallen.com

Endlich mal wieder eine Scheibe, die so richtig aus den Boxen knallt. Bei entsprechender Lautstärke sollte man lieber den Sicherheitsgurt anlegen. In der leider recht kurzen Spielzeit werden 4 absolut geile US Power Metal Geschosse abgefeuert. Alle Songs bewegen sich im Mid Tempo Bereich. Der kraftvolle und aggressive Gesang von Joe Karavis passt hervorragend zu den melodischen aber konsequent knalligen Riffs der beiden Axtschwinger Mike Johnson und Steve Jasuilewicz. Die völlig trendfreien Kompositionen erinnern teilweise an ältere OVERKILL und ICED EARTH. Man merkt der Band förmlich die Hingabe und Spielfreude an. Die 5 Bandmitglieder (komplettiert durch Chuck Dunahue - Bass und Jamey Wilczewski - Drums) sind bestens aufeinander eingespielt. Die Kompositionen sind wahrlich exzellent geschmiedeter Stahl. Thank goodness, once again an album raging off the speakers. Please fasten your seat-belts when listening to this one in adequate volume. Four brilliant mid-paced US Power Metal missiles are fired here within the sadly very short playing-time. Joe Karavis‘ powerful and aggressive vocals perfectly fit the melodical but consequently cracking riffs of the two axemen Mike Johnson and Steve Jasuilewicz. The totally untrendy compositions partly remind me of elder Overkill or Iced Earth. You can feel the band’s devotion and joy playing this kind of stuff. The five band members (completed by Chuck Dunahue on bass and Jamey Wilczewski on drums) perfectly harmonize with each other. The compositions are really excellently forged Steel.
