Mit Ihrem offiziellen Zweitwerk “Thrash You!” knüpfen die Ausnahme Bay Area-Thrasher ABANDONED aus „San“ Darmstadt nahtlos am starken Vorgänger „Thrash Notes“ aus dem letzten Jahr an, rein sound- und songtechnisch legt man hier sogar noch eine gute Schippe obendrauf und gallopiert sich wieder sehr gekonnt durch die 12 tracks plus je ein Intro und ein Outro, welches klampfentechnisch sehr stark an (Me)Tallica erinnert, als diese noch im Stande waren, echten Metal zu zelebrieren…-
ABANDONED sind sich und Ihren Fans aber natürlich treu geblieben und überschütten uns regelrecht mit geilen Riffs, knackigen breaks und einem 80s-feeling, welches jeden Anhänger von Bands wie EXODUS, TESTAMENT, FORBIDDEN, SLAYER und (alten!!!) METALLICA (seufz!) großen Spaß machen wird. Bei aller Geschwindigkeit wirken die Stücke trotzdem noch sehr melodisch und stimmig, soll aber nicht heißen das gute Teil würde nicht punktgenau mit Wucht direkt auf der Nasenspitze landen und dabei den heftig auf- und abwippenden Kopf zur Beruhigung bringen, das setzt erst nach dem letzten Titel ein und mit leicht geöffneter Kauleiste wischt man sich stilgerecht mit dem Ärmel den Sabber ab und drückt dann sofort wieder auf die „Play“-Taste.

"Thrash You!" is the official second release of exceptional Bay Area Thrashers ABANDONED from "San" Darmstadt and it seamlessly stays the musical course of its last year's predecessor "Thrash Notes". Sound and songwise these guys have even improved and are gallopping through the 12 tracks plus one intro and outro that guitarwise strongly reminds of METALLICA as they still were able to celebrate Metal...
ABANDONED of course have stuck to their roots and flood their followers with great riffs and breaks and an 80ies feeling that will be truly enjoyed by every EXODUS, TESTAMENT, FORBIDDEN, SLAYER and (old!!!) METALLICA (sigh!!!) fanatic. Despite all the speed the songs still seem to be melodic and tight. But nevertheless they forcefully hit you right onto the point of the nose and calm down your banging head. This feeling starts right after the ending of the album's closing track, you wipe away the spittle with your sleeve and immediately press the "play" button again.

Nach ihrer Demo-CD “Misanthrope” aus dem Jahr 2003, welche als Demo des Monats im Rock Hard (April 2004) abgefeiert wurde, legen ABANDONED nun mit „Thrash Notes“ einen Kracher nach, der wieder an beste Zeiten der Bay Area erinnert. Truppen wie EXODUS, FORBIDDEN oder auch TESTAMENT haben hier hörbar Pate gestanden. Trotzdem werden die 11 vertretenen Stücke absolut eigenständig und auf hohem Niveau runtergebrettert, wobei besonders der Gesang von Eric „Kalli“ Kaldschmidt wie Arsch auf Eimer passt und der Mucke den besonderen Anstrich verleiht. Herauszuheben ist auf diesem starken Thrasher kaum ein Titel, da keine Ausfälle zu vermelden sind, das sehr starke „Breed Machine“ entwickelt sogar schon nach dem ersten Durchlauf echte Ohrwurmqualitäten und genau das ist es auch, was Thrash-Fans z.B. so sehr an der ersten TESTAMENT-Scheibe schätzen. The first full-length album following the "Misanthrope" Demo-CD released back in 2003 (which became the demo of the month in Rock Hard April 2004) has become a real KILLER reminding of the glorious Bay Area times. These guys definitely have been influenced by EXODUS, FORBIDDEN or TESTAMENT, nevertheless the 11 tracks sound totally unique and highly sophisticated. Especially Eric Kallia Kaldschmidt's vocals fit perfectly and strongly contribute to the band's distinctive sound. No fillers, just killers. "Breed Machine" soon becomes even a totally killing ear-catcher and that's exactly what the Metalians loved about the first TESTAMENT album. Hope you will find this gem at your CD dealer's.
