Absoluter Wahnsinn ... solch eine Eigenproduktion und Debüt Album erblickt nur höchst selten die Metalwelt!!! Was ABANDON HOPE hier abgeliefert haben, ist in jeder Hinsicht superprofessionell. Vom aufwändigen Digipack mit 20-seitigem Booklet, über die druckvolle und transparente Produktion bis hin zu den gut durchdachten Songs ist alles auf höchstem Niveau angesiedelt. Los geht's auf "The Endless Ride" mit einem Intro das dann nach gut 35 Sekunden in ein Monsterriff überwechselt. Was man dann die gut 45 Minuten um die Ohren geballert bekommt erinnert mich immer wieder an solche Bands wie CORROSION OF CONFORMITY, BLACK LABEL SOCIETY oder an DOWN. Und genau diese Bands machen den Sound von ABANDON HOPE aus. Aber halt, die 4 Jungs aus dem Raum Münster sind keine Kopie der erwähnten Bands, denn dafür ist ihr Material viel zu eigenständig. Die Rhythmusfraktion bestehend aus Max am Bass und Alex an den Drums ist so fett im Sound das sie einen locker an der Wand drücken und zerschmettern können. Auch Jörg an den Guitars ist eine Absolute Macht. Der Sound der Gitarre erinnert mich phasenweise an Zakk Wylde oder Dimebag Darrel (R.I.P.). Versteht mich nicht falsch: die ganzen bekannten Bands oder Gitarristen sollen nur zur Orientierung euerseits dienen um ABANDON HOPE einordnen zu können. Den perfekten Sound auf "The Endless Ride" rundet dann aber Hommel am Mikro ab. Seine Stimme ist absolut klar und doch sehr prägnant. "The Endless Ride" groovt von vorne bis hinten mit tonnenschweren Riffs, so dass die gut 45 Minuten nur so verfliegen. ABANDON HOPEs Debüt ist ein Album was nicht nur in die Sammlung gehört, die die erwähnten Bands zu ihren Faves zählen. Es sollten sich alle Metal Fans angesprochen fühlen, die ohne Scheuklappen ihrem geliebten Metal frönen!!! Anspieltips für "The Endless Ride" hab ich nicht, denn wer sich das Album in seine Sammlung holt, weiss spätestens dann warum. Unter www.Abandon-Hope.de bekommt Ihr die CD für Schlappe 10,- Mücken (plus P&V), aber die sind es so was von wert!!! Für mich ist "The Endless Ride" das Debüt und die Eigenproduktion des Jahres 2006!!!

Absolutely over the edge ... a Private Pressing and debut album of such quality seldom sees the light of the Metal World !!! Superprofessional in every respect what ABANDON HOPE deliver here. Be it the costly Digipack including a twenty-sided booklet, the driving and transparent production or the highly sophisticated songs, everything is over the top. It starts off with an Intro leading into a monsterous riff after 35 seconds. The following 45 minutes often remind me of bands like C.O.C., B.L.S. or DOWN. But these guys from the Münsterland are no simple rip-off for their song material is much too original. The rhythm section formed by Max on Bass and Alex on Drums is really heavy and able to press you against a wall and to crush you. Jörg on Guitar knows his job as well partly reminding me of Zakk Wylde or Dimebag Darrel (R.I.P.). But don't get me wrong: The bands mentioned above are simply hints to help you categorize ABANDON HOPE's sound. The perfect impression of "The Endless Ride" is completed by vocalist Hommel with his clear and concise voice. The album grooves
with ton-heavy riffs right from the start until the end, thus the 45 minutes pass very quickly. ABANDON HOPES's debut should be part of every Metaller's collection, not only of those who call the bands mentioned above their favourites. I am not able to point out single songs here and if you should buy the album you'll surely know why. To my mind "The Endless Ride" is the best debut album and Private Pressing of 2006 !!!
